
20 Apr Junior Network Engineer
We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks for existing and new clients to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing network configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the existing LAN/WAN/VPN topology including Cisco and Aruba Networks Switches, Routers, Access Points, and Firewalls;
- Manage operational network support, including day-to-day network changes, maintenance, enhancements and emergency response, as required;
- Designs, configures, and maintains local and wide area networks (LAN /WAN/VPN) at all our existing and new clients;
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security;
- Monitor and respond to network outages and service requests to troubleshoot and remediate network issues;Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting;
- Maintain detailed network configuration and security documentation and facilitate changes in documentation and network monitoring as devices are added and retired from the network;
- Assist senior network engineers with operations, maintenance and projects;
- Provide input to project plans and help identify key skillsets;
- Arranging scheduled upgrades/ Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases;
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent working experience;
- 1-year experience in a similar type of networking role;
- Ability to work independently and on group;
- Organizational skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Cisco CCNA trainings required (CCNA Certification is preferred);
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, dynamic routing, Ethernet LAN switching, load balancing;
- Solid experience with firewalls, access-lists, NAT;
- Experience with WAN and VPN Solutions, DMVPN Phase1/2/3, IPsec, IPsec/GRE, remote client VPN;
- Solid experience with wireless networks and controllers;
- Solid troubleshooting skills, including at routing, switching and firewall;
- Knowledge of network topologies, methodologies and protocols;
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment;
- Organizational skills;
- Fluent written and verbal English skills (German language preferred);
- Ability to travel abroad for integration in EU Countries;
